Only Those Who Are Spiritually Experienced Understand Spiritual Statement,
Which Are Often Loaded With Meanings
3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me remove the speck from your eye'; and look, a plank is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.
Matthew 7:3-5
Wrong Explanations
From time to time, you hear people or reverend ministers quote the above sayings of Jesus. The do well by quoting Jesus. However, the bad thing is that in most cases, they end up misinterpreting what Jesus said.
Usually, they interpret it as meaning that you should first correct yourself before seeking to correct another person. Morally, the interpretation they give is good. But, spiritually, it is wrong.
Correct Interpretation
What Jesus was saying was that people have a third eye called the spiritual eye, on the forehead. This eye is far better than the tow physical eyes. The spiritual eye can see spirits. It sees what is happening inside a house without entering the house. It can see, clearly, both visible and invisible things. The same eye can see into far away places, and can see what is happening in heaven.
It never occurs to people that what they see physically is not usually the same what is spiritually present. The beautiful girl you like may be a marine spirit from the ocean. The teacher in school teaching your child could be a witch. Likewise, people like to live in beautiful houses, without knowing that many rented houses are possessed by demons or dedicated to idols and shrines.
For example, the Israelites were paying homage to King Herod. To people, king Herod was a great man worthy of public honour and respect. But to Jesus, king Herod was a demon. That was why the Bible records:
31 On that very day some Pharisees came, saying to Him, "Get out and depart from here, for Herod wants to kill You."
32 And He said to them, "Go, tell that fox, 'Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.' 33 Nevertheless I must journey today, tomorrow, and the day following; for it cannot be that a prophet should perish outside of Jerusalem. Luke 13:31-33
Do you know the spiritual meaning of ‘fox’. It means a wild beast, which spiritually means a demon or an evil spirit fighting against the kingdom of God.
What did Jesus mean by removing the plank or log of wood? Jesus was making it to known to the people that they should do spiritual science and practice to open their spiritual eyes. The plank or log of wood simply means spiritual blindness (ignorance), indolence (laziness) and complacency (false satisfaction, self-righteousness). He could not speak to people in plain words because they were not ready and willing to hear and learn the Truth. In addition, the people He came to the world to save, are the very people Satan is using to oppose His work of salvation.
In the case of Mary Magdalene caught in adultery, the Israelites were relying on their physical eyes. What they were seeing was different from what Jesus was seeing with His spiritual eyes. The Israelites were seeing the guilty Mary, but Jesus was seeing the seven demons that possessed her. Killing Mary would not have solved the problem, because Mary would reincarnate, only to be possessed by the demons again. The solution was deliverance from demonic possession. And this Jesus did, to save Mary, who later became a saint.
